Welcome to the second installment of Coyote Corner. I am Blue Coyote, and I bring to you an exclusive Wrestle-Complex interview with Impact Zone Wrestling’s Navajo Warrior. Nav currently runs IZW out of Arizona. He has wrestled with Legends, but up and coming stars like Kaz, Rellik, and Hawaiian Lion. Talent who have worked and learned in IZW have gone on to work in WWE and TNA. Navajo Warrior was kind enough to take the time and answer my questions.

Wrestling Questions:
Blue Coyote: You have listed Scott Hall and Owen Hart as two of your influences in the business. What was it like to work with them?
Nav: It was an honor to work with those guys. I was very new in the wrestling world, and they were both huge stars, to say I was nervous would be an understatement.

Blue Coyote: Aside from a TV taping and what I heard about you from your Dark Matches, I first noticed you in your Ultimate Pro Wrestling days. What ever happened to UPW?
Nav: I am really not sure what happened with UPW, there just started to be more time in between shows, then they ultimately stopped running them.

Blue Coyote: What is your opinion of TNA/ do you think they can compete with WWE like WCW once did?
Nav: I think it is great that there is TNA on television to give the fans more wrestling to watch. I think anything is possible when it comes to competition, I guess time will tell.

Blue Coyote: Do you think Independent Federations are becoming more like the old territorial days of wrestling?
Nav: Not at all. The territories provided places for wrestlers to work and move on to other territories. Most independent promotions can not afford to bring outside talent in, and do not run often enough to provide the kind of work to make a living.

Blue Coyote: How did IZW (Impact Zone Wrestling) come about?
Nav: Back around 1999 I started to train a couple of guys, then it grew from there. In 2000 I decided to try and run a show myself, that is when it started.

Blue Coyote: Do you think IZW shows would succeed in other states such as Texas or New Mexico?
Nav: I know that they can. IZW has provided talent to promoters running in those areas, and they wrestlers are very well received by the fans.

Blue Coyote: IZW will start doing an on-line show. I think the on-line concept is a good way to go for IZW. I live in Texas and can catch the show. Could you please give the details of the show and how it came about?
Nav: The show will be called IZW Impulse, and should start running online at www.risingphoenixwrestling.com & www.impactzonewrestling.com within the month of December 2007. The idea came about when IZW acquired RPW earlier this month. With the acquisition we gained the production team that films the events. So, we decided to put the matches online so that wrestling fans from around the world can see what IZW is all about, and why we have produced great talent that has moved on to WWE and TNA.

Blue Coyote: have seen the pictures of you in the ring with Chris Benoit. What was it like to be in the ring with him/ did you know him personally?
Nav: I was very excited when I found out I was wrestling Chris Benoit. When you are in the ring with him you know you are in a fight, he was just a great wrestler. I did not know him on a personal level, we just said hello and things like that at television tapings.

Blue Coyote: Do you have anything to say about Wrestlers dying at such a young age?
Nav: I think it is just horrible, every person that passed away at such a young age is one too many.

Blue Coyote: Do you see Navajo Warrior as that IZW Champion again soon?
Nav: Not really, I am focusing on the tag team division right now with my younger brother Ghostwalker, we recently reunited the original "Native Blood".

Blue Coyote: Even though you play a major role in IZW, would you still go to WWE full time?
Nav: Of course I would.

Blue Coyote: Would you please give some more details on the IZW Wrestling School?
Nav: The IZW school runs classes 3 nights a week. We have 3 trainers and have had numerous "stars" pop in and work with the students also.

Non-Wrestling Questions:
You and I have a lot in common. My parents divorced, and I too found solace in wrestling. I wanted to be a super hero and then a cop. I became a cop, you became a wrestler. We are both Hulkamaniacs and KISS is also my favorite band. But I wanted to know some things about you that I have not seen in the interviews before.

Blue Coyote: Do you ever attend The Gathering of Nations?
Nav: I have not had the opportunity to, but I would love too.

Blue Coyote: What is your perfect day off from work?
Nav: Relaxing with the fiance and kids. We love to go to the movies.

Blue Coyote: What is you favorite home cooked meal?
Nav: I think my favorite is tacos, both regular and navajo.

Blue Coyote: What sports do you like other than wrestling?
Nav: I really do not watch a lot of sports anymore. I used to really like playing football, but now I can't even sit through a game. I have recently gotten hooked on NHRA drag racing.

Blue Coyote: Do you like the Phoenix Coyotes? (I had to ask, though I am a NJ Devils fan myself)
Nav: I have never seen them play, but I do have tickets to a couple of games this season.

Blue Coyote: Is there anything you would like to add?
Nav: Thank you for wanting to conduct this interview.

Blue Coyote: Are there any shows you would like to plug?
Nav: IZW has a "Supershow" Saturday January 5th in Mesa, AZ. More details can be found at www.impactzonewrestling.com
Blue Coyote: Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my questions.
Nav: Thank you, I hope it is what you were looking for.
God bless
