There are several more news items to report from Thursday's live "iMPACT!"
First, thanks to all the TNA fans that took part in the interactive voting during the event! Due to a record traffic surge (our biggest ever!), the site did experience a brief outage, so we apologize for the delay. Growth is a great thing - but we know it can be annoying when the site slows down. Expect more interactive voting on the website in the future!
There were several celebrities and special visitors in attendance at the live "iMPACT!", including Detroit Tigers pitcher Joel Zumaya, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Farrior, and WWE wrestler Dereck Graham-Couch. In addition, mixed martial arts veteran Frank Trigg was part of the broadcast to offer his thoughts on the upcoming Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe bout for Lockdown on April 13.
The broadcast opened with "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles saying he was worried about Karen Angle and hadn't heard from her since last week. Later in the broadcast, Karen did take part in a sitdown interview with Mike Tenay where she talked about taking her children and moving away from Kurt. Karen also said she had met someone that cared about her and treated her right - but she wouldn't say who it was!
Christian Cage finalized his team for Lockdown on "iMPACT!", as it will be Cage, Kevin Nash, Rhino and Sting on one side, with Tomko, AJ Styles and Team 3D comprising Team Tomko.
As the world witnessed before the broadcast ended, "Cowboy" James Storm absolutely knocked Sting into next week after smashing him with a beer bottle. Storm quickly left the arena with Team Tomko and wouldn't offer comment. Immediately after the broadcast, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette announced Sting would face Storm next Thursday on "iMPACT!".
During a sitdown interview with Samoa Joe, Mike Tenay asked the Samoan Submission Machine about his claim that he would walk away from wrestling if he didn't win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Lockdown. Joe continued to back up the statement, saying that if he can't be the man and be the best then he will hang it up.
