According to a report by PWInsider.com, Jonathan Coachman being replaced by Mick Foley as color commentator on Friday Night Smackdown is due to the fact that he was in the midst of an interview process with ESPN.

Coachman, who sources had indicated has been quietly discussing leaving WWE for quite some time had been doing additional broadcast work for both the MSG network and CBS' College sports broadcasts.

We can now confirm that Coachman has been hired by ESPN as an anchor. There is no word on when Coachman will debut, but internally it is believe that Coachman will be finished with WWE shortly.
